Why Isn't The World Perfect?

Today, I had a friend ask me,
 "Why can't everything be happy-go-lucky?"

  Good question.

  Why can't it?

  Joshua 1:9 says,

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." NIV

We were made to be courageous. brave. strong. fearless. BOLD.

So, why isn't the world perfect?
If God loved us, then why would He put us in a world full of such evil?

If our world was flawless and full of amity, we humans would never have to depend on Him and His strength to get us through the day. We would never have to be strong. We would never have to fight for the right thing. We wouldn't have to do anything but laugh and smile. Everything would be just perfect.

But that's not what He wants for us.

Of course, He wants us to be happy. He wants us to be free of worry and doubt and pain. But most of all, He wants us to lean on Him and be immersed in His strength. As I said before, if we lived in a perfect world, there would be no reason for us to be strong. No reason for us to depend on Him. No reason for anything, really. Our purpose is to reflect Him. This world is not our home, we are just passing through. I look at it as if God has put us through military training. Every move we make, every word we speak. Every book we read, every song we sing. We are preparing to become warriors of God.

If this world were perfect..we would have nothing to prepare us for battle. Nothing to push us past our limits. Nothing to bring out the dauntless in us.

This may be my shortest journal entry in the history of my journal entries. But here's my point:

WE WERE MADE TO BE COURAGEOUS.
We were born into a world penetrated with flaws so that we may have the chance to bring out the strong warriors we are called to be!
How are we to be bold when everything is perfect?
If the world was perfect, we wouldn't need God.

and you know how much we need Him.

So, I shall leave you with this:

Be strong. Be courageous. Be dauntless.
